Stuart Trotter is een zeer gerenommeerd kinderboekenillustrator uit Engeland en begon meer dan 25 jaar geleden. Zijn eerste opdracht was Portland Bill voor uitgeverij Purnell en door de jaren heen werkte hij met bijna alle kinderboekuitgevers van het land; Walker Books, David Bennet Books, Reed, Egmont, Heinemann, Victoria House, Treehouse, Parragon, Hodder Children’s Books, Usborne, Oxford University Press, Pearson, Scholastic, Azbookvarik, Ladybird, La Coccinella, etc.

Stuart is zeer bekend geworden als ‘character artist’ van de beroemdste characters ter wereld; Winnie the Pooh, Wallace and Gromit, Noddy, Thomas the Tank Engine, Topsy and Tim, Portland Bill, Kipper, Postman Pat. Momenteel is hij de auteur en tekenaar van Rupert Bear voor Egmont’s Rupert Bear Annual. Naast werk voor uitgevers werkt hij voor grote design en reclamebureaus zoals Saatchi & Saatchi.

Stuart startte in 2006 zijn eigen kinderboekenuitgeverij: Rockpool Children’s Books.

Stuart Trotter is a renowned children’s book illustrator from England. He started illustrating more than 25 years ago. His first assignment was Porter Bill for Purnell Publishing and over the years he has been working for almost every children’s books publisher in England: Walker Books, David Bennet Books, Reed, Egmont, Heinemann, Victoria House, Treehouse, Parragon, Hodder Children’s Books, Usborne, Oxford University Press, Pearson, Scholastic, Azbookvarik, Ladybird and La Coccinella.

Stuart has become well-known as the ‘character artist’ of some of the most famous characters in the world like Winnie the Pooh, Wallace and Gromit, Noddy, Thomas the Tank Engine, Portland Bill, Topsy and Tim, Kipper, Postman Pat.

Currently he is the author and illustrator of Rupert Bear for Egmont’s Rupert Bear Annual. Besides working for publishers he also works for large design and advertising agencies like Saatchi & Saatchi. In 2006 Stuart started his own children’s books publishing house Rockpool Children’s books.
